Nobody wants to end up in the doghouse. Yet, I almost ended up in there when I forgot my wife’s birthday. I was saved, all thanks to my daughter. She was planning a surprise party and asked for my advice. I did not let on that I forgot the special occasion. But, now, I was frantically looking for a gift that could appease my wife. Asking around my female co-workers and wives of some good friends, I finally struck the lightning. Coco Mademoiselle for Women made by Chanel.
I must have done some really good deeds in recent times to end up with a suggestion like that. Chanel is my wife’s favourite brand. Ever since our marriage, I have learnt more about Chanel than any other brand. I know that the hundred year old company has set a major benchmark in women’s fashion. Also, I am aware of the fact that Jacques Polge is highly regarded as one of the best master perfumers ever. The genius’s career spanned over five decades, and he managed to come up with creations that pleased both men and women. So, the moment I got the favourable suggestions in this regard, I looked it up. I wanted to appear knowledgeable and thoughtful when I presented my gift.
The brand
Launched in 2001, Coco Mademoiselle set a higher benchmark in the industry due to its immediate success. The Eau de Parfum is available in four sizes on Chanel’s official website. The 35 ml variant costs $82, and the 50 ml variant is priced at $108, the 100 ml variant is worth $138, and last but not the least, 200 ml variant is worth a staggering $220. With all the raving review and suggestions, I decided to splurge $220 to see a beautiful smile on my wife’s face. It may seem overpriced, and the price to quantity ratio may not be favourable, but sometimes it is the thoughts behind the gift that matters more.
The packaging
The package arrived on the day of her birthday. I quickly gift-wrapped it and presented it to my smiling wife. The moment she got rid of the wrapper, she let out a deafening shriek of happiness. After she settled down, I looked forward to the unpacking since this perfume had intrigued me. First, the white box with the Chanel logo engraved on the golden top looked amazing. Next, the slick squared bottle with rounded edges looked beautiful with the orange-ish liquid floating in it. Finally, the beautifully designed crystal knob was worth staring at.
The smell
The top notes contain a floral oriental blend of Mandarin Orange, Bergamot, Orange, and Orange Blossom. A hot oriental combination of Turkish Rose, Mimosa, Ylang-Ylang, and Jasmine exists in the middle notes. Lastly, White Musk, Patchouli, Vetiver, Tonka Bean, Vanilla, and Opoponax wrap up the base notes. The fragrance has a splendid blend of ingredients that has the power to astound anyone.
The first couple of sprays introduced us to a sweet and sour opening. The enticing sweet, fresh scent then slowly transitions to the floral smell of the middle notes. Afterwards, the slow domination of the rich mix of patchouli and vanilla takes over. Inhaling the remarkable scent surely changes your mood for good. The flirtatious, sexy perfume is appealing and exciting to both sexes.
Later in the evening, the women in our party were drooling over the perfume. Men were ogling at my wife. That is when I realised the power this invention possessed. This fragrance is top-notch. It is suitable for an upper-class socialite party, a neighbourhood get-together, and regular uses. It never fails to impress. Chanel might have produced one of the best perfumes ever. It will definitely be difficult for any brand to top this one.
Even after a tiring long summer day, I could still smell the perfume on my wife. Damn! This scent can last a long time. It sure did earn me some brownie points. When was the last time you came across a perfume that can last a whole day? I certainly do not remember such an occasion! It is suitable for every season. Whether it is the scoring red hot summer or the freezing ice-cold winter, it retains its impression.
Moreover, our bedroom still had strong silage of the fragrance after the busy day. I do not recall any perfume having such an impact ever.
Furthermore, a lot of people claim that this bottle can last an entire year with two sprays a day. Talk about longevity! If the perfume really lasts that long, then I may have saved a hell lot of money for other expenses.
The only drawback to this perfume, in my opinion, is that a section of people calls it the grandmothers’ brand. Chanel was withstood various competition throughout its hundred years of existence. It is popular with not only grandmothers but women of all ages. Coco Mademoiselle is specially marketed towards women in their 20s and 30s. Older women are also fond of this perfume. My recommendation to all men would be to use this perfume to woo their wives or girlfriends. It is perfection redefined. You can purchase two variants for the different seasons as well, like Eau de Toilette for the summers and Eau de Parfum for the winters. This will ensure a long-lasting effect all year long and make your better half fall in love with you repeatedly.
